Summer thoughts

When I look back and think of those times when I was much younger and I would play under the sun with my toys... it makes me realise that time has gone so fast...

To me summer has meant freedom and to simply lay back and relax... unfortunately this summer is really different... basically no vacation and very little time to relax and tan... I really miss those summer days when I would get bored of being under the sun and I had no clue of what my day would be...

Well I guess adult life is hitting me and I'm growing up... I took this picture at a vintage shop on St- Laurent street and I just loved the colors... I love lemons... they can be sweet and sour... I love their vivid yellow and how they truly remind me of those good old summer days :)

Jean Paul Gaultier - L'enfant Terrible

For the past few weeks Jean Paul Gaultier's name has been all over the news papers and everyone has been waiting for his exhibition in the Fine Arts Museum of Montreal... to open!!!

I was suppose to go see it today but unfortunately the line up was quite long and it seemed super busy...
So I'll wait when it's less crowded...

I would say that Jean Paul Gaultier was one of the first designers that I learned about and that I was able to remember... I'm quite terrible with names... anyways...

Born in 1952 in France... he started his career by sending out sketches to fashion designers in France... He then started to work closely with fashion designers and began to learn about this chaotic industry...

in 1976 he launched his first collection... and in 1981 his name started to gain recognition from the public... and he won the entitlement of " L'Enfant terrible" with his edgy and up hipster style he was able to caught people's eye... His designs were a combination of urban styles with pop culture...unlike other fashion designers he enjoyed integrating unconventional models in his runways...

Not only he was gaining recognition in the fashion industry but also main stream artists were desiring to wear his creations... his iconic cone bra was being show cased by Madonna... he later on worked on some designs for Marilyn Manson and Kylie Minogue...

He has also worked for a famous French label called Hermes (2003-2010).
Aside from clothes... Jean Paul Gaultier also created his own perfumes...

I'm truly excited to see his exhibition... I would have liked to meet him in person but I guess another time :)

On a personal note I truly enjoyed much more his creations done for Hermes.. I find his designs for his own label are rich in creativity but are not quite realistic... I find his designs are not as outstanding as they use to be... I hope this changes... because I think it's a bit early for his career to conclude...

arc shoes

So I've noticed and I'm sure you must have also noticed that for this year arc shoes are really in...
to be honest I'm not sure I would be able to handle those kind of shoes... but I hope I will...
I think you need to have long legs to pull those one off...

I would have to give it a try with my short thin legs :)

Arc shoes have some old school touch... round and organic detail remind of me the 70's and 80's...

Walter Steiger
very classic and elegant... with some mirror accents and a glossy finish ... nice touch for those red carpet stars...

In the other hand we have Thierry Mugler a bit more dramatic... and obviously higher... I felt really bad for the models that were in the runway for the 2011-2012 autumn / winter collection... They were falling ... with those heels...

Japan Fashion

I just finished checking out my blog's statistics and I've noticed that I have a couple of faithful viewers in Japan. It truly makes me happy and I'm more than thankful for those readers!!!
The disaster in Japan has affected so many lives and it really touches me to think of the families that have lost their dear ones...

As a fashion blogger... I want to speak my mind and allow my followers to read my thoughts... Through this post I want to remind people of Japan's great fashion taste...

Japan has become a fashion icon... they have a unique taste for fashion... combining different textures and colors with their culture...

Tokyo's streets are filled with fashion trend setters... and although for some people their fashion may be considered completely different from the occidental standard to me they are simply unique and beautiful.

This photoshoot taken from the iconic Terry Richardson is beautiful in colors and textures...

Look of the day: Wild Addiction

Fashion... Fashion... I guess after purchasing 50$ worth of paper... I truly believe I am obsessed with fashion....

To me buying the 2012 Autumn / winter Vogue collection is like buying a book... they become part of my fashion archive :) ...

Aside from my addiction to Vogue... I take fashion as something fun and I do not like to follow trends...
I think you should always make fashion adapt to your lifestyle...

NEVER make fashion suit you... fashion is meant to be fun and it's intended to show part of your personality... that's why I'm showing these pictures taken by my friend... I usually NEVER smile or even worse laugh in pictures... but I think these pictures capture a lot of life.

Shoes and Men...

Today I was sitting outside and wearing my fabulous sandals.... that u can see in these pictures...
and I said to myself : "wow they are freaking comfortable" and I was like... hmmmm.... Sometimes shoes can be really uncomfortable and even quite painful to wear... but for the last 2 years I've stopped buying uncomfortable shoes and have tried to INVEST in shoes....
and this made me think in guys....

I guess the past few years my love life has been up and down...and this past year it really hit me hard and for a moment I felt vulnerable towards my feelings
and after this experience I've realised that I deserve someone that truly appreciates me and that won't hurt my feelings and that I need to be much more selective... the same way I am with shoes :)

so with all of this in mind it just hit my thoughts that some guys can be like shoes... obviously not in the literal meaning but that they can be painful and make you feel uncomfortable like bad shoes...

so next time you get involved with a guy think about heels... they can be nice looking but if you know they are cheap and will make you go thru pain and make you feel uncomfortable you can wait for the next one :)

I LOVE THESE SANDALS :)
