Life: Art? Fashion?

The other day I went out for dinner with a friend and while eating my vegan quesadilla I noticed this poster of art (first image). When I finished reading the last word on this poster, it actually make me think very hard on fashion and art... I looked up at the seven arts and apparently fashion is not one of them... perhaps it's not even a reliable source but these are the "seven arts" : visual art, poetry, sculpturing, dance, music, architecture and theatre... I wonder if they forgot about food and fashion... or maybe I'm just being silly...

I once heard one of my good old friends asking me if fashion was art... In my opinion there is no real definition on whether something is art or not... Although there are thousands of people that reject the idea that art has become something big in business...and that it's somehow exclusive (museums and galleries)... but the shocking truth is that nowadays everything runs with money whether it pleases us or not...Now don't get me wrong... yes art is everywhere and it could be on the wall of a dark alley in some polluted industrial factory but nevertheless art or what society has ditacted us upon art is that it belongs in the walls of those rich people...that know all about history...

It's like fashion... I love fashion because of the idea of customizing and letting your clothes speak about yourself but I won't shut myself from the idea that fashion is business. I do consider fashion an art because not everyone was born to be a fashion designer... and because fashion is about innovation and to me it's like a walking painting.... and the same way goes as art... fashion can be between the pages of Vogue Paris or on a model in Milan fashion week but it can also be in your wardrobe...I'm seriously tired of those people that believe in the idea that fashion is all about drinking champagne with strawberries and taking nice pictures with those leggings and black pumps... or those people that feel "fashionable" because they are wearing the latest Chanel shades... I rather be unique with retail stores than a walking advertisement....
One thing is crystal clear in my mind and that is to not let society tell me what is art and what is crap...

This might sound cheesy but one thing my parents always tell me and that is to always follow my intuition...
My personal intuition is that fashion is in my closet and that is my piece of art.
