Love Dior

My new Dior Blush :)

My Dior Lipstick!

My Dior necklace :)

Hello!!!

So lately my fashion love has been religiously devoted to Dior... I just love the elegance and the clean edges of this line...It's a bit hard for me to explain my fashion love but all I can say is that it's borderline to a compulsive obsession :)

It's absolutely easy for me to be in love with Dior but lately I'm having a really hard time finding true love?
I don't want to sound like Carrie Bradshaw and write about my disappointments with love and my addiction to shoes but to tell you the truth I could go on and on along these tangents...

I was having a boy talk with my parents... it's extremely unusual for me to be engaging these type
of conversations with them but it somehow just happened...

I was telling them that nowadays it's really hard to find a guy that is a gentlemen...
Many guys that I've met seem to have forgotten the manhood booklet at home!
I wonder where the hell manners have gone!
In very simple gestures I can notice when a guy is not being a gentleman...

Is a door that heavy? Like seriously open the door ! Let her walk before you!
Pick her up! and freaking pay a coffee!

I know that many girls can be gold diggers and take advantage of these gentlemen guidelines but there are some girls like me that truly appreciate these small details...

I've promised myself to not throw a penny more for a guy or go pick him up!!!

NO NO... My love life may not be active for the moment but in this economy crisis I better save my money and hope for a gentlman to get me a cup of coffee (tea)! :)

Stay tunned for my next shoes and men serie...

Life: Soul Search

I guess it's been a while since I've written about myself or of my future plans...
and to tell you the truth I don't know where to begin...

I don't like to publicize my life and talk about my fears and future projects but for some odd reason I feel the need to express these things with my faithful readers.

My life hasn't been the most organized and it might sound silly but whenever I notice that my room starts to be cluttered and chaotic... I mentally start feeling the same...
And I'm currently in a moment of my life in which I have to decide what is the best for me...

Some people think that my life is easy...
because I live at home and I'm not committed to anyone or anything but at the same time
I have to make choices on my own and it's not like I'm living a princess life..(if you know what I mean)

Since the age of 16 I've been working, studying and seeking my passion. I don't complain about work because although sometimes it can be tough; I've learned so many things... And I feel very fortunate to have been able to exert my design skills in the work field... But after a year of working in industrial design I feel the weight of my passion telling me to go deeper into my true dreams.

After high school I took the habit to write down everything that I want and the things I would like to achieve...it helps me to keep track of what is really important... (it also helps me not to forget things...)

Right now these are some of the "duties" that I'm working on...

With so much time in hand it's hard to decide what to do and so many ideas burst in my mind...
As you may all know by now... fashion is my passion and reading fashion books never get me bored...

Sewing... Sewing...

My poor sewing machines has been sitting on my desk for the past year.. just accumulating dust and it hasn't been put to good use...But I really hope to go back to my "sewing skills"...

My magazines have been my best friends!!! Always keeping it fresh and constantly reminding me that my dream is still alive...

For a really long time I was planning to take these pictures... I like to be known as a fashion eater...
fashion keeps me full and in shape! It's my fashion diet... a bit of tea and a bowl of fruits!... Honestly fashion keeps me living and I'm not letting it go...

I've met so many people that are my age or older and are clueless of what their passion is...
and all of them tell me that my life is easy because I know what I want...
But to tell you the truth it doesn't get easier once you know it...

Passion is like a baby... you have to feed it... take care of it... and let it grow...
before you know it your passion will be walking on its two legs and wanting more from you...

My passion is still crawling and growing but I have hopes that it will take its first steps...

Passion is a question of time and opportunities... Grasp everything that can come to you...

I use to blame my parents for not letting me study fashion design... but now I'm truly thankful for their advice...

When I finished high school I wanted to make the jump and go into fashion design but instead I studied product design... and the first year was literally hell but fortunately I liked it enough to complete it...

After completing my degree I thought that I could go into fashion design but again my parents told me to maybe put into good use my degree and gain experience in the field...and so I did...

and now that I've in a way "satisfied" my parents... I'm free...

I use to really complain about their advice but the more grow the more I understand everything that they've said to me... They have always been very supportive about my dreams and future plans...

And now that I'm in some lalaland time frame they still understand me and are given me time to decide my next jump...I'm currently working on my blog as you can see... and I'm also getting more involved in the social media platform... and I'm truly happy to see that my life in fashion is slowly growing...

All I can say about my future plans is that it's a recipe that includes the following:

1. A full hand of Shoes
2.The New York island
3. An FIT factory
4. $$
5. and as always a dash of dreams...

It might seem a bit confusing but once it takes more shape I'll let you know what it's all about!

Wish me luck :)

Look of the day: Blues and Dots

Hello!!!

I guess it's been a while since I haven't posted a "look of the day"... but like I said I won't let you guys down and I will try my best to post as much as I can...

I love this top because it reminds me a bit of versace and also a bit of DG S/S prints... I'm not a huge
fan of polka dots because they remind me of my high school trends but I just fell in love with this print!
Some people are scared to try prints because they don't want to look like a wall paper or make themselves look bigger...

The trick with prints is to either have ONE piece with print and keep the rest in a solid color...
or buy ONE piece such as a dress with a print that is proportional
to your size...

In this case I just took a top with a print and made it the focal point of my outfit...

TOP 5 SANDALS 2012

Sometimes we just don't know what to buy anymore!
The summer hits us and we start buying sandals here and there without keeping track...

I have maybe 3 or 4 pair of sandals and the rest are flats... I don't spend crazy money on sandals
since we only have 2 months of real summer... and they are a seasonal trend...

But...

Here are the TOP 5 sandals for this summer!!!

1. Strappy Sandals

These are my favorite!!!

Strappy heel sandal are always trendy for the summer and these Christian Dior are to die for!
Combining textures and colors are really great for contrast. They are amazing for the day and work perfectly for the night. They can be worn with dresses, skirts and shorts!

2. Wedges

What can I say... they are my ultimate shoe saviours! Wedges give you height without the pain of heels. They are simply fabulous!!! They don't need to be as crazy as these Moschino but you can go on your wild side and do a bit of color blocking... They work very well with shorts and also light summer pants...

3. One-Strap

This type of sandals has been everywhere... the simplicity in these sandals make them tremendously sexy and elegant. I love these Givenchy because of the silver detail combined with the snake texture...These sandals are great with dresses and shorts! They elongate your legs and give you height!

4. Flat Sandals

Gladiator sandals are over rated... They are completely out and I'm happy for that! Just a simply flat sandal with not so many straps will do the trick if heels and wedges are not your forte!
These Jeffrey Campbell sandals are great because they have this Spaniard in sole which is super comfortable because your foot is not hitting the ground... For flat sandals I highly suggest to find a pair that has a good thickness at the bottom because constantly hitting the ground is no fun!

5. Translucent Sandals

I know that many people passionately hate translucent shoes and even I'm not a big fan but just having a detail... might work for me... I actually love these Zara sandals... I think the heel works really well and it even becomes THE statement of the shoe. If you ever buy shoes with this type of heel...take good care of them... try not to scratch them please!

So these are my TOP 5 picks for the summer!

Remember to take great care of your sandals and your feet!!!

Shoes: Judge a life

About 3 weeks ago I bought these beautiful Jeffrey Campbell shoes at Editorial boutique and I wore them right after I left the cashier desk... I just couldn't wait to put my little feet in these beauties.

They are completely different from all the other shoes that I have and I guess that is the detail that caught my attention. Some might say they look like hooker shoes but at the end of the day only you can pull them off...

Shoes are meant to make you feel sexy and beautiful...

I simply love the translucent detail of the plastic on the sides of the shoes

Sunny :)

This morning I was listening to the radio while doing the dishes and one of the topics was about shoes...
Apparently studies have shown that you can get to know someones personality of about 90% from their shoes...

I've always believed that shoes represent your style and that they are an extension of your personality
But one thing I do not like to do is to judge someone for their shoes...

I've met people that are richer in personality and character and unfortunately cannot afford proper shoes... and I've met others that are wearing the most exclusive shoes of the season but are poor and rotten from the inside...

So I guess the theory is partially right... You do get a person's insight from their shoes but try not to judge them...

People might think I look like a hooker or like a clown with these shoes but all I know is that they make me feel GREAT!

I could go on and on about shoes... I just adore them  because they are literally an extension of your body...

Accessories: Numero 11

For the Grand Prix weekend I attended the Numero 11 Store event with the company of fashion blogger and coworker Elle!! This store has opened its doors to Montreal about 3 months ago
and it came right on time for the summer season!

With exclusive lingerie collections and beautifully patterned swimsuits! This is heaven for the Montreal Ladies with very well tailored designs made in Brazil, Venezuela and Spain. Numero 11 showcases many accessory designs from Venezuelan designers such as Las Goyas. I simply fell in love with their accessories
and I just couldn't help but to fall in temptation and get something!!!
As you may all know I'm very picky with everything and especially accessories... I hate to see my little treasures rust... and these accessories are ever lasting!

I also love the ambiance and the warm welcoming from the ladies at Numero 11. They
are simply delightful and as a Latina lady I had to speak in Spanish to them!!

I love seeing Hispanic talent and businesses grow within our city!

Bienvenidas a Montreal!

Here below is the beautiful bracelet I bought for my sister but it's actually more mine than hers now....
(I'm borrowing it... I just don't know when I'll give it back :)

Accessories: Ring

Who doesn't love rings?!?! I love rings simply because of the meaning they have more.
They are these small objects that capture my attention...
I feel like I repeat myself when I say that for me accessories are much
more than just an ornament that is added to your outfit...
To me accessories have a story behind...

I adore this ring because it's unique.
I haven't seen someone else with this ring and that makes me very happy!
I love all the details in this ring and it reflects my love for music :)

Here is a perfect example of the jewelery that has a family significance...
It's not my "type" of ring but I truly enjoy wearing rings that have a family
relationship. They remind me of my legacy and of my beautiful family.

And they are these rings that have another significance...
I'm not the type of girl that will throw away this type of jewlery or will give it back...

I keep it because it's mine... it's that simple... I like to keep in mind
those special moments... There is no reason in throwing them away...

Look of the day: Dominatrix

Hello!!!

So this past weekend after snacking at Le gourmet burger with Elle from ellejasmin.. we took a little break
and took some pictures!!! On our way to the restaurant we passed by Editorial Boutique because I had
my eyes on these Babies aka my new Jeffrey Campbell shoes!!!

I finally took the decision to buy these shoes!!! They are completely different from the rest of the shoes that I own. They are eccentric and have that dominatrix touch... some people might say they look like
hooker shoes but honestly I don't give a F***

At the end of the day you have paid for those shoes so why the hell care about what others think??

I was able to walk all the way back home with these shoes without falling and they are quite comfortable!!!
I'm actually proud about myself because I'm very self conscious about my heel walking skills...
and I'm always worried about what others think of me when I'm wearing heels...
Maybe it's because Montreal girls are not huge stiletto fans (and this is a fact from a personal experience)

Many girls in Montreal opt for flats and wedges and rarely wear stilettos or heels...

I think it's time to give Montreal guys a bit of eye candy :)

Have a great week !!!

The New Black..

Hello!!!

I hope you're all enjoying this gloomy weather....(I'm not) Well since the weather is ugly and it's the weekend
I took some free time to try this new product! It's called The new black.

It's a kit that comes with three different nail bottles...and some strips of news paper

It's 5 easy steps... I won't lie that you need a bit more time than just a regular nail polish Mani...

Before all of these steps Apply your favorite nail polish ( I used the one in the kit because it's a nude color and it allows the letters to be readable)

1. cut the pieces to size (rough scares)
2. Apply the "Transfer solution" on your nails (one at the time) and keep it wet
3. Apply the paper (letters on the nail... it's silly but it took me time to figure this out)
4. Remove the paper gently after 30 seconds
5. Wait until it's nicely dry and apply at top coat for some shine!

And  Voila!!!

At first I couldn't read what's written on the news paper but once you apply it... you read it all!!!

I just love what's written because it's all about "life, love, peace, wish" and they're all positive words!

Go get some! It's worth a try!!

You can find these in places like Sephora.
