Look Book: Carlo

Sometimes going back to your original ideas is the best thing to do! That is why I've decided to seriously snap pictures of stylish people in my surroundings. Unlike street style ( in which you approach complete strangers), look book has been planned ahead of time with acquaintances or friends. To restart my look book archive I asked my dear friend Carlo to initiate this project. Carlo, is a friend I met during college and we've been in touch ever since. He's a very relax, honest and down to earth type of guy. It's rare to meet straight guys that are detail oriented in fashion and have a versatile style without looking like a metro. He can be fresh with kicks but easily wears a sleek and sexy black suit. For this photo shoot I didn't even ask him what to wear because I trust his taste and I wanted his style to be reflected in these pictures. I just realized this is actually the first time I have a photo shoot of a guy in my blog! I usually share fashion for girls but many times I've been asked by my my guys friends "how come don't you talk about men fashion?" Well here you go guys! I'm not an expert at men fashion and that is why I rather not mess in that business... However, I think men fashion should always be clean, fresh and fun. My number one rule is to never be afraid of trying new things! Take the great example of my friend Carlo and simply let your mood guide your style.

Thank you Carlo for this amazing photo shoot :)

Look of the day: Palladium

What a vibrant color!!! A couple of days ago these Royal blue monochrome palladium boots were added to my wonderful shoe collection. I rarely post looks with sneakers however I love the edgy touch these shoes add to my look. They are truly eye catching and will definitely get people's attention! If you want to make a shoe statement, wear these Palladium boots and your outfit will literally POP! While walking through the mall I noticed a few people saying "wow look at that color!" If you want to be on the safe side, they are available in white or black, but in my opinion sometimes bright shoes are the key to an outstanding look. As I've mentioned many times before a dash of color adds a twist to your outfit!

A few weeks ago I attended the Palladium 2013 winter presentation and I was overly impressed by their  engineered shoes designed for the urban life.

Palladium was founded in 1920 to make tires for the fledgling aviation industry. Their expertise was so advanced that soon the majority of Europe's aircraft were using Palladium tires. After World War II, the demand for aircraft tires drastically decreased. Palladium decided to open a plant in Pont De Cheruy, France, to start producing footwear that was as hard wearing as their tires.

In 1947 the legendary Pampa boot was born, and the functionality, comfort and durability were so outstanding that the French Foreign Legion adopted it for their use. The Foreign Legion put the boot to the test in the harsh desert conditions of North Africa, and throughout the rugged terrain of the Atlas Mountains.
Today, the original design, classic lines and time tested utility are as relevant as they have ever been. Combining over 60 years of authenticity with modern manufacturing, premium materials and cutting edge styling, Palladium boots are ready to help you explore your street, your city, or the world.

Vogue Japan & Accessories

A good friend of mine went to Japan for his vacations and he brought me back the best gift of all! A lovely Vogue Japan, I had always been searching for one in Montreal but never had luck :( ...I'm like a kid with a new toy, although I can't read Japanese I enjoy flipping through the magazine and attentively seeing every single page. I think fashion is a universal language that does need words to speak for itself. The textures, colors, patterns, cuts and shapes simply tell me a story of a designer's passion for this industry. I'm tremendously happy to now add Vogue Japan to my wide Vogue collection which includes (Mexico, Spain, Paris, USA and Italia) next ones in the list : Australia, India and Brazil. Vogues are the only magazines that are scared to me, and I never cut anything especially for the collection editions. I also wanted to take better pictures of my two favorite necklaces, both from Zara. These will be very useful for this summer!

Look of the day: Floral White Pants

Today was an unusual day.. Waking up to the news that my lovebird of 8 years had died was truly sad. I've lived most of my life with lovebirds and it's weird for me to have a silent house. Some people love dogs (I also love dogs) but I adore birds. They are smart, noisy and have beautiful colors, as small as they may seem they have a lot of character. Birds bring life to any house with their chant and curiosity. I've had many love birds in my life, I've fed babies and seen take their first flight. However, she was the last one I had and I'm going to miss her a lot. Seeing her eyes spying on me and watching me all the time, screaming to me to get some attention. I already miss her and it will be hard to find another loving bird.

I also enjoyed the beautiful weather and went out for some ice cream with my daddy and sister!!! I love ice cream, I think it's the best gourmet invention! Ice cream makes you feel better when you're down and upset (trust me). A lot of things have been going on in my life, work wise and personal events that are pushing me even more to go for what I really want. I can't drag this "lame" life state any longer, I'm saving money for my dream but I hate double faced people and I have to cut those that are selfish because in the end nobody cares about your well being. Look after yourself and rely on your family and faith.

A Lush Life

I'm officially living a LUSH-IOUS life!!! For the longest time, I thought that Lush was simply another handmade soap store. Last summer, I fell in love with lavender for its relax property and in my search for products with this magical stress reliever, I was brought to Lush! I then became fascinated by their large selection of products and ever since my life with Lush has grown exponentially.

Throughout this year, I've slowly learned more about Lush and I truly admire the work behind their products. As you purchase their products, you witness the love and dedication that goes into each and one of their products. I've never been disappointed and I don't think there is a price for products made with passion. Lush not only cares about offering its customers a healthy and beautiful skin but also about causes that need to be heard.

I'm tremendously grateful to have been able to collaborate with Lush and give you guys my inside scoop on some of their products!

I was dying to try this 9 to 5 cleansing lotion because, one thing I'm obsessed with is a clean face! If you're tired after a long day at work, if you're in a hurry or feeling lazy to wash your face this lotion will be your best friend. I've been using it after I wash my face because it removes any makeup leftover and leaves your skin smooth and moisturized. Unlike other cleansing lotions it doesn't leave a sticky feeling and it has delicate orchid almond scent.

I've recently realized that I have a serious condition of dark under eyes and covering them with a good concealer is annoying. When I saw that Lush had an eye cream, I knew I had to try it! Simply gently applying the cream is relaxing and it's effective both day and night. Fortified with cold pressed jojoba oil, lavender and honey, this eye cream will seriously help you reduce those dark circles! I personally, use it at night because I don't like mixing too many creams with makeup.

I've never been fond of those sprays that set your makeup because I hate getting my face wet after my makeup is done especially if it's not to clean it! However, this translucent face powder will set your makeup and I've also noticed it helps to reduce the oiliness on your skin. It's lightweight and it won't add color or change your makeup foundation. Just use a brush and dab a little bit on your nose and cheeks. This little container will certainly last you a very long time!

So far, I had only tried lotions, soaps, scrubs, facial masks but never makeup from Lush! I'm sentimentally attached to my current makeup but I'm willing to try something new. To initiate into Lush makeup I've decided to start with their "feeling young" skin tint, I was very curious to see the effect on my skin. And again I wasn't disappointed !!! It doesn't glitter, it simply adds a natural shimmering effect, catching the light at the perfect angle to enhance your features. This cream works perfectly in the summer because it acts as a blush or bronzer and blends smoothly on your skin. Made with some of the best oils such as jojoba, almond  blended with soothing oatmeal and orange flower water to nourrish your skin. This cream is a MUST for this summer!

This scrub is brilliant! It has everything you need to keep your skin clean and spotless (literally)! It leaves a fresh sensation on your skin with a vigorous scent of ocean. A perfect combination of sea salt, vodka and lime to exfoliate your skin. No jokes, but it's the best scrub I've used so far! It leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh. Please take note to avoid your eyes while using it on the face and keep your mouth closed. Also don't use if you have cuts because it will hurt! Use it two or three times a week. It has become my ultimate favorite body and facial scrub.

Here are some other products I use... I forgot my facial mask called ayesha, my occasional french kiss bubble bath, and some bath bombs!
Lush is a brand that is worthy to be supported and now my dear readers don't be shy and let yourself get pampered and feel deLUSH-cious with Lush :)
