Top 5 Cheap Makeup - Cosmetics Brands

This is the only website on this list that I haven't tried... I heard about this website on YouTube and I think I will give it a try when I get back to New York because the shipping is probably cheaper. I'm not sure about the quality of the makeup, however I have heard it's great for fake eyelashes and small accessories like scarves and some jewelry. The majority of their products are 1$ ONLY!!!

Essence carries a lot of products in the U.S, I've been able to purchase a couple of their products at Ulta and in Canada they have expanded their products in Pharmaprix (QC). Their products have more of a girly feel... sometimes it does feel like it's for teenagers but it's a pretty decent quality for the price. Their prices range from 2$-6$ or more but nothing really pricy. I highly recommend their mascaras!

I've only been able to find these products in the U.S however I've seen a couple of makeup packages at Walmart in Canada. I've purchased E.L.F at Harmon's values in New York and so far I can't complain! I highly recommend their brushes! Their products sell around 2$-6$ it's really affordable!! I hope they expand their line to Canada!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE NYX!!! It's probably the priciest on this list but compared to other drugstore brands, it's still the cheapest. They offer quality makeup at an affordable price and what I love the most about NYX is that you can get products that are found in higher end makeup brands for cheaper like a contour palette for 27$ instead of 55$ for a Kat Von D palette. Their liquid matte lipsticks are my favourite!!! They recently expanded their brand to Canada and I'm so happy for this!!! You can buy their products online or in stores like JEAN COUTU in Canada (QC).

I LOVE COLOUR POP!!! It's cheap and the quality is great! They do ship to Canada but it does take some time and shipping can get a bit costly. They have eye shadows for 5$, lipsticks for 6$ and more and they have highlighters for 8$. I really like their highlighters and I want to try their lipsticks because I've heard great reviews on YouTube. I also love that they make collabs with bloggers and have mini collections every now and then.

How to Keep smooth lips in Winter?

I always find it extremely hard to keep your lips smooth and soft during winter. The cold weather is lethal... for your lips! I wanted to share some of my tips and give you guys some recommendations on products. I hope you enjoy it!

It's really important to exfoliate and get rid of that nasty dead skin on our lips! I love love Lush's Bubblegum lip scrub. It smells amazing and tastes great! I like to use it three times a week and then I moisturize it with my favourite lip balm.  This lip scrub is about 6$ but if you don't want to buy one you can easily make one at home with honey and brown sugar. I like doing this treatment at the end of  my day before going to bed.

You MUST moisturize your lips ALL THE TIME! Morning... after lunch... while watching TV... and especially before going to bed! I love the Sugar lip tinted balms from Fresh... they are a bit pricey but they last a while and if you don't like lipstick this is an excellent option! If you're on a budget... the good old vaseline will do the trick!

Lately I've been having major problems with my lips and I don't really know why... I don't have cold sores but my lips tend to get really dry at the corners, like where my lips part and it's just ugly... if I yawn or open my mouth to wide to eat, it will bleed and I've tried everything... Abreva is designed for cold sores and it didn't do anything for me but I know it works wonders if you do have one... I sometimes use polysporin even though it's not supposed to go in your mouth... I just make sure it stays on the outer side. So far it's the only thing that has been working for me... Apparently it might be a symptom for a vitamin deficiency, so I'm working on getting that sorted out... Anyways with this being said, I hope this article helped you!

Best Fall Skin Care Products

I'm really loving this lip balm, the flavour is great and I love that it doesn't leave a film sensation on my lips like EOS ones. I got this one at Harmons in New York but I think they probably carry this one in Canada as well. (price around 3.99$)
I bought this cleanser because I felt that my skin was getting to use to Purity by philosophy and I felt that my skin needed some change. This cleanser works pretty well to remove makeup and I love that it doesn't dry out my skin. The smell is great and the texture is very smooth. It's a bit pricy but it does last a long time, I got mine in August and I still have plenty of it! ( price around 39$ at sephora)

I wanted to get a face scrub but I didn't feel like buying an expensive one; my sister recommended me this one and it's honestly very good! I love that it leaves my skin smooth and it's not very abrasive. It's cheap and since you will only use twice a week it will last a long time. (price around 7.99$)

I had heard great things about this brand because it's eco friendly... I bought this one in Canada and I'm not sure if they carry these products in the States... I think they only carry their baby products in some retail stores... I love this lotion! It's not oily and it dries nicely, it has a refreshing smell! Highly recommend it, it's also very inexpensive. (price around 6$ in Canada)
I honestly do not own this product but the girls at Lush gave me enough sample to use for 3 times and I love it! I'm so happy that lush has another mask that does not need to be refrigerated... because I hate cold masks on my face... and also that does't expire! I'm not a coffee drinker and usually anything with a coffee smell turns me off but this mask does not bother me one bit! I love love the textures! A small pot is about 10$ and I'm sure it can last a while.

Bambi / Fawn Makeup Tutorial

SORRY FOR THE QUALITY OF IMAGES... IT'S HARD TO TAKE A PICTURE OF MYSELF WITH THE NIKON

THESE ARE THE PRODUCTS THAT I USED BUT YOU CAN CHOOSE WHATEVER BRAND AND SHADE SUITS YOUR SKIN BETTER. DON'T WORRY IF YOUR MAKEUP DOES NOT TURN OUT PERFECT... IT ACTUALLY MAKES IT LOOK MORE NATURAL.

I BOUGHT THE NYX CONTOUR CREAM PALETTE BECAUSE IT'S VERY CHEAP AND IT DOES THE JOB QUITE NICE... AND I DON'T NORMALLY CONTOUR MY FACE SO I DID NOT WANT TO INVEST ON A SET LIKE ANASTASIA. I REALLY LOVE THE WET N WILD WHITE EYE PENCIL AND IT WAS 0.89$ !!! SUCH A BARGAIN! I ALSO WANTED TO GIVE YOU A TIP FOR CONTOURING... YOU CAN USE BROWN EYE SHADOW TO CREATE SOME SHADING. I USED A MAC EYE SHADOW AND IT WORKED FINE.
THESE ARE THE PRODUCTS I USED FOR MY EYEBROWS. I DID WANT TO REALLY DEFINE MY EYEBROWS...REALLY ARCH THEM TO GIVE THE EFFECT OF BIGGER EYES.  I DIDN'T DARK THEM TOO MUCH BECAUSE FAWN'S DON'T REALLY HAVE EYEBROWS.
FOR THIS TUTORIAL I DIDN'T PUT ON THE EYE LASHES BECAUSE I'M SAVING THEM FOR HALLOWEEN BUT JUST BUY SOME CHEAP ONES FOR ONE NIGHT USE. I GOT MINE AT HARMONS VALUE FOR 2$ INCLUDING GLUE! GOD BLESS AMERICA FOR AFFORDABLE MAKEUP! THIS IS OPTIONAL..I DID DRAW SOME LASHES AT THE BOTTOM WITH MY FELT TIP EYELINER. AS FOR LIPS YOU CAN EITHER LEAVE THEM NUDE OR ADD A TINTED PINK LIPSTICK.

SO HAVE FUN WITH YOUR MAKEUP! I HOPE MY TUTORIAL OR PIC TUTORIAL HELPED YOU! HAVE FUN  ON HALLOWEEN!

Stud Statement earrings

Marc Jacobs - Pretzel earrings (45$)

Bauble Bar earrings (20$)

Marc Jacobs - Candy Earrings (45$)

Bauble Bar - Earrings ( Gift )

I wanted to share with you guys some of the earrings I've been wearing these past few months... I love stud earrings because I have short hair and I feel that long and dangling ones don't suit me well. Every time I wear Marc Jacob's pretzel earrings, I get complimented by someone and they always ask me where did I buy them!? I bought them in Hudson Bay store in Montreal last winter because they remind me of New York. They are adorable and have a big meaning to me. The other earrings are from Bauble bar, I really love this brand because they carry trendy pieces at an affordable price and when you order online the packaging is super cute!

I'm not a big fan of accessories but stud earrings have become a must in my closet!

Back in NYC!

It's been so long since the last time I posted something in my blog... and I feel terrible for letting my blog reach such a low point of activity. It was quite a busy summer and I'm a bit sad that's it all over and that I'm back to my New York routine. It's been about three weeks since I got back and it feels like time is passing by very slowly.

My first week back has been by far the worst week on my own... I got horribly sick and I had to unpack and settle in my new apartment. It was both physically and emotionally hard but I'm glad that it's all behind now. At the time the only thing that was motivating me to get better was the fact that be the end of week my boyfriend would be here. Seeing him was a breath of fresh air and it felt so nice to have him here and have two days to ourselves.

Being back in New York, definitely feels weird not only because I'm back to being on my own but because I'm back to a place that feels like a second home. Unlike last year, I'm not anxious about the subway or knowing my way around the groceries or just getting to class. However, the feeling of being alone and having solo dinners can be depressing at times.

The one element that has truly shifted my experience here is that my new roommate/friend is barely in our apartment. I won't deny that it feels pretty good to have a place to my own. I can watch movies and sketch without earphones and listen to music while I cook....It's strange how small things can bring so much joy when you're a student living away from home... I've started to appreciate having a place on my own and it feels good. Nevertheless, I miss my family tremendously and also my boyfriend. It's so hard not seeing them and not being able to share silly moments with them.

They are my motivation to my degree and career... every project and everything I do is because I want to some day be able to give them back every effort and sacrifice they've done for me.

Anyways I hope to keep you posted on more things in the next couple of days!
Here are a couple of pictures of my new apartment.

Summer Fabulous!

Looking fresh and sexy is not something easy to pull off during summer but my sister has an impeccable sense of style. She has a good eye when it comes to choosing key piece for her wardrobe and sometimes I wish my style could look this polished. Black and white will never go out of style and having key pieces in these colours is essential. I love the use of the crop top because it doesn't look inappropriate; and I also love the shoes!!! Strappy sandals are very trendy and I'm sure will still be on for next year. A great combination of pieces in a monochromatic palette, perfect for this season!

Jealous Body Scrub

A couple of weeks ago I was reached out by the Jealous Body Scrub team to give their scrub a try and I got really excited to test a new Canadian Body Scrub! It's been a few weeks since I started to use the Jealous body scrub and so far I'm truly satisfied with the results. I was a bit skeptical that the coffee smell would throw me off because I'm not a coffee drinker but it actually doesn't bother me. I mostly use it on my body because it's slightly oily compared to other scrubs I've used.

I like that it's very soothing and gently enough that you can use it as many times as you wish per week! This scrub is all natural and uses high quality, ingredients such as, premium Robusta coffee grounds, organic cold-pressed coconut oil. The mix of these natural ingredients helps reduce the visibility of stretch marks, cellulite and acne spots.  It also hydrates, exfoliates and gets rid of dead skin, leaving your body with a smooth and rejuvenated skin.  It's truly perfect for the summer!!!

I don't want to sound like I'm bragging about my skin but I don't have any significant stretch marks; so I didn't really notice a difference. I've been mainly using the Jealous body scrub for the exfoliating factor and that it's very gentle on my skin. If you would like to try it just click the link down below!!!

5 things that change in your Mid Twenties

I will soon turn 25, and now that I look back at when I turned 20 I've noticed that many things have changed. Mainly my perspective on some aspects of life have changed and I'm starting to realize that I'm a young adult. Part of me would love to stay in the early twenties phase but I guess it's part of life to grow! Here are a couple of things that I believe mid twenties' young adults can relate to.

1. Family Matters

I feel that the older you get the more caring and closer you become to your parents. As a young adult I have bigger responsibilities and I understand much more the stress they go through to maintain a household. I care much more about building my career and give back to them once I have a stable position.

2. Quality v.s Quantity

When I was in high school, I wanted to be popular and have plenty of friends but nowadays I cherish my small circle of friends. Along the years I've lost friends because we change and some have moved away. I rather have a few that truly know me and care about me than have many that only want to party.

3. Big Money

In my early twenties I felt rich with 1000$ in my bank account... now it takes much more to feel wealthy... financial needs are bigger and having a good paying job is a priority. Paying rent, buying groceries, having a car and maintain a young adult lifestyle is not easy.

4. Relationships

Looking back at the type of guys I use to go for, I just shake my head and tell myself "what was I thinking?!?!" I did care about going for what I believed to be a "good guy" but I wasn't really picky about their values or about their habits...As I got older I became more selective and now I believe to have found my better half :)

5. Alone time

You actually enjoy some alone time! Unwinding at home, watching TV, drinking a good cup of Java or tea, become your Friday night routines. Partying and being hungover don't look very attractive anymore...

They are plenty of things that change in your life once you start approaching the mid twenties and all you can do is simply enjoy this phase. A time in life when you're maturing yet and aging well!

Simple things in life

It's almost going to be a year since I've restarted my journey as a student, and I guess I forgot how hard a student life can be. These past couple of days have been loaded with work and it won't be getting any easier until the end of the year.  I have very little time to even do things that I enjoy and that make me happy... and it has started to take a toll on me... I can definitely feel the stress under my skin every day. It's never easy to manage stress and even though I wish that I could escape to a tropical island... that is not realistically possible right now... So here are some of the things I do to maintain my sanity when I don't have to time to take hours for a bath or take a trip to ease my anxiety.

1. BEAUTIFUL FOOD

The small things in life count and they can contribute to your happiness...
I try to make my meals look very good... like instagram worthy ;) It's always more satisfying to savour a visually pleasing plate right! Make it look real good! I get inspired by a couple of food blogs or instagram foodies.

2. KEEP CALM AND DRINK TEA!

I've also decided to take back the habit of drinking a cup of tea almost every evening. It relaxes me and keeps me awake at the same time! Tea is always good for stress.

3. HAVE A COZY ROOM

When I'm doing homework on my desk or if I'm having supper by myself, I like to lit my candles. the scent and the aromas are very relaxing. It also brings a bit of warmth to the room.

These are really small things you can do to ease a bit of the stress. I have 3 weeks left of school and I'm grinding work like crazy but I have to remind myself to implement these small things back into my life or else I'm really going to burn out.

I hope these small tips will help you!

Happy finals folks!
