Thoughts on the bus... Goodbye MTL

As I'm sitting in this never ending bus trip back to New York, all I can think of is "can this bus move any faster!"...I genuinely hate traveling unless it's a flight to a desirable destination like the Cancun or home! My body and mind doesn't settle well with the idea of being stuck in a moving object for more than 5 hours without a proper meal or rest... On top of this agonizing trip I think I'm starting to develop a cold.... The ONE thing I really managed during the holidays to avoid.

With barely any sleep... no makeup and a soar throat, my break in Montreal is officially over. Saying my goodbyes was slightly harder this time around especially with my significant other. We've grown stronger and we definitely enjoyed our time together more than this summer. The stress of moving to a new city and starting a journey away wasn't weighing on me anymore...but after spending such a wonderful break together, the last thing I wanted to do was to leave.  Looking at our pictures and remembering the last hug we gave each other is making me tear in this coach bus surrounded by travelling strangers... Long distance is tough but worth it!

Saying goodbye is never easy or pleasant... but it's only temporary!
I'm clueless to how long I will be living in New York for but Montreal is by far what I can call home and I hope that one day wherever it is I can be stationary and live with my loved ones. As of now my life is in a box (literally) and all I can look forward is to another fulfilling semester.

New York here I come for another chapter!

My Top David's Tea Favourites

This herbal is my absolute favourite one for ice teas. The blend of mango, apples and guava is refreshing and sweet, it's like drinking juice!

(black tea)

If you're a coconut fan, then you'll definitely enjoy this one! The mix of coconut, sugar cane and pecans is simply rich and velvety. My favourite desert tea.

I'm a walking stress ball so I'm always looking for things to help me unwind and take a break from my hectic life. I use to drink a lot of "Mother's little helper" but the acidity of the hibiscus was throwing me off and so when this "big chill" came out it truly came to my rescue! It also has valerian root which helps to sleep and a sweet vanilla undertone. I just love the blend of mint, apples and lemon balm.

I LOVE OOLONGS! They are my favourite type of tea because they are not grassy like green teas or too rich like black teas. Oolong are perfectly in between and have a full body of flavours. This pineapple oolong is fresh and uplifting!

(white tea)

Mulberries, coconut and white tea is simply sublime! It's sweet and creamy!

(green tea)

This was the first tea that I tried from David's Tea and it's been one of my favourites ever since! The blend of coconut, almonds and a hint of pineapple camouflages perfectly the grassy tones of a green tea.

New Year!

My year began with an important and highly anticipated trip to my boyfriend's hometown, Listuguj. I was both anxious and excited about this trip, since I was travelling by myself for over 8 hours to a place that I had never been... I get a bit of travel anxiety. Once I stepped out of the train and saw my boyfriend standing out in the cold waiting for my arrival... all of my tiredness and travel anxiety went away. Here are a couple of pictures that I snapped as we drove thru the beautiful scenery of Listuguj. It was my first time being in the Eastern side of Canada and I loved it!

This trip was planned a while ago because timing is essential in a long distance relationship. As some of you may know, I'm living in New York but my boyfriend lives in Montreal... it's tough at times but it's all worth it! We both needed to escape the city and spend quality time with each other. I also got the chance to meet his wonderful family and learn how to make a couple of things, thanks to his mother! I absolutely loved this trip, it was relaxing and definitely memorable. Truly looking forward to my next visit :)

My spots to eat in New York (1)

New York is the city of Diners! Who doesn't enjoy pancakes, bacon and smoothies? There are thousands of diners in this city but so far this one has really struck my heart. It has a wonderful ambiance and the food is delicious. Great place for a brunch with the girls!

New York is also known for amazing sweets and what better treat than a good old American doughnut. I discovered this place as I was walking through 23rd street and what caught my attention were the doughnut shaped pillows on the wall of their shop. Doughnut plant has a wide range of flavours from vanilla to peanut butter and jam!

New York is also known for their amazing bagels... that is up for debate on my part since I love Montreal bagels. However, Murray's bagel has some pretty good stuff! I also like that they are quite close to my school :)

New York is a great city for food but for macaroons there is really only one place to go and that is Laduree.
I tried other macarons from some "French" place but they were really off... so from now on when I'm craving macaroons I hit Soho's laduree store.

I'm a french toast junkie!!! I just love making them and obviously eating them! I discovered Balaboosta with my sister, we were simply walking in Soho and we were looking for a place to eat; we saw the menu and decided to give it a try! Long story short it was an amazing discovery :) I took some of my parent's friends for a brunch and they loved it.

214 Mulberry Street, NYC.

This is only the beginning of a long list of favourite spots in New York. I have at least a year an half more in the Big Apple, so hopefully there will be more tasting to come :)

enjoy the holidays!
